As part of the PMI Metrolina Chapter, the Wilmington Community services the needs of project management professionals in the Wilmington, North Carolina area. Communities are designed to enable flexibility for more participation across the broad chapter geographical area; to facilitate networking and peer mentoring in a smaller setting; and to allow participation in periodic community projects (local small/medium businesses, high schools/colleges, non-profit organizations, etc.) that are better adapted for smaller groups.
The Wilmington Community typically holds it meetings the 1st Thursday of the month.
Community Site Leaders:
Director, Steve Dunker, PMP
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Steve quickly found himself developing web applications. This led to designing and developing websites where he became passionate about digital marketing. Steve began working remotely early in his career given his road warrior status. He co-founded an SEO agency assisting customers with their optimization strategies. Steve began using many SaaS platforms designed to automate and test marketing initiatives. As a professional services team leader, he has consulted with many Fortune 500 companies regarding web analytics, search marketing, and social media. Along his career journey, Steve eventually found himself working as project manager and earned his PMP credential. Most recently, he has moved from the AdTech space to Fintech working on very similar SaaS implementations, data integrations, and onboarding new customers. He also served 8 years in the United States Armed Forces as 13B (Cannon Crewmember) and 19K (Tank Crewmember).
