"Human Work Machine: How are Brains Impact our Success" Speaker: David Mantica, West Region Virtual Meeting (Asheville & Fayetteville)
Yes, we are a work machine. We are knowledge workers and the primary instrument that drives the work we do is our brains. Now, how much do you know about how your brain works? In very pragmatic terms: How do you process information? What is your brain’s default settings? Why do we react emotionally even in logical work environments? Even when we can “think” about something what are the distortions that can impact that thinking?
Knowing these things does two things; one, it enables you to self-assess and self-manage, you can protect yourself from these distortions and two, it enables you to better manage work relationships and manage work situations. The reality is, it is no longer about what you can do aka your technical skills, it about how well you can get things done, an in all cases that means how effectively you can work with others. Understanding the Human Work Machine is the critical foundation to working with others.
